To use, first open the main cylinder valve, then turn the low-pressure gauge pressure调节 screw clockwise to compress the main spring. This action, in turn, activates the diaphragm, spring washer, and pushrod, causing the valve to open. As a result, high-pressure gas from the inlet flows through the high-pressure chamber, undergoes throttling and pressure reduction, and finally enters the low-pressure chamber before being released into the working system. By adjusting the position of the regulating screw, you can control the height at which the valve opens, thereby regulating the flow rate of the high-pressure gas and achieving the desired pressure level.
The high-pressure chamber of the ammonia valve is connected to the cylinder, while the low-pressure chamber serves as the gas outlet, leading directly to the application system. The high-pressure gauge indicates the pressure of the gas stored inside the cylinder. Meanwhile, the outlet pressure on the low-pressure gauge can be precisely controlled using the adjusting screw.
To use, first open the main cylinder valve, then turn the low-pressure gauge pressure调节 screw clockwise to compress the main spring, which in turn actuates the diaphragm, spring washer, and pushrod, opening the valve. This allows high-pressure gas from the inlet to flow through the high-pressure chamber, undergo throttling and pressure reduction, and finally enter the low-pressure chamber before exiting to the working system. By adjusting the position of the regulating screw, you can change the height at which the valve opens, thereby controlling the flow rate of the high-pressure gas and achieving the desired pressure level.
Ammonia shut-off valves are all equipped with safety valves. These serve as protective devices for ammonia pressure regulators, ensuring their safe operation—and also act as indicators in case the regulator malfunctions. If, due to issues like valve seat or valve damage, or other reasons, the outlet pressure spontaneously rises beyond a specified allowable limit, the safety valve will automatically open to release excess pressure.
How to use:
(1) Depending on the specific application requirements, ammonia pressure regulators come in many different specifications. The maximum inlet pressure is typically specified, while the minimum inlet pressure must not be less than 2.5 times the outlet pressure. Outlet pressure options are also varied, with the highest available outlet pressure generally noted.
(2) When installing an ammonia pressure-reducing valve, ensure that its connection specifications match those of the system’s fittings. Ammonia shut-off valves feature a hemispherical connection, achieved by tightening a nut to create a perfect seal between the two surfaces. Therefore, during use, it’s essential to keep both hemispherical surfaces clean and free from debris to maintain optimal gas-tight performance. Before installation, compressed high-pressure gas can be used to blow away any dust or particles. If necessary, a gasket made of materials like PTFE can also be employed.
(3) Ammonia service shut-off valves must be kept completely free from oils and greases to prevent fire hazards.
(4) When stopping work, the remaining gas in the pressure relief valve should be fully released, and then the adjusting screw should be loosened to prevent the elastic element from becoming permanently deformed due to prolonged compression.
(5) Ammonia shut-off valves should be protected from impact and vibration, and must not come into contact with corrosive substances.
The usage methods and precautions for these ammonia shut-off valves are essentially the same as those for standard ammonia shut-off valves. However, it’s also important to note that specialized ammonia valves are generally not intended for use with other gases. To prevent misuse, some ammonia valves are equipped with unique connection fittings specifically designed for compatibility with steel cylinders. For instance, hydrogen and propane both use left-hand threads—also known as reverse threads—so extra care should be taken during installation.
